Roguski, James Madison Devour William & Mary

WILLIAMSBURG, Va. - Junior Amy Roguski (Sykesville, Md./Liberty) scored a career-high six goals to lead the James Madison women's lacrosse team to an 18-7 win at William and Mary in Colonial Athletic Association action on Friday afternoon.
JMU got its 10th win of the season, upping its overall record to 10-5 and its CAA record to 5-1. The Dukes won their third straight game.
W&M dropped its third game in a row and now has a 4-11 overall record and a 1-5 CAA record.
The Tribe's Taelor Salmon scored in the opening minute of play to give W&M a 1-0 lead. However, JMU scored three times in just over four minutes and led 3-1 after a Roguski goal at 24:41. The Dukes never trailed in the match and led 8-3 at halftime.
Other multiple-goal scorers for JMU included redshirt senior Casey Ancarrow (Jarrettsville, Md./John Carroll) and sophomore Steph Finley (Media, Pa./Sacred Heart), each with three, and sophomore Ali Curwin (Pittsford, N.Y./Pittsford Sutherland) and junior Julianne Giles (Ellicott City, Md./Mount Hebron) with two each. Ancarrow also had an assist, and Curwin had two assists.
Salmon and Zoe Buger led W&M with two goals apiece.
JMU held a 34-19 shot advantage and had 14 draw controls to 12 for the Tribe.
Roguski led all players with five draw controls. Senior Kelsey MacDonald (Glyndon, Md./Bryn Mawr), Curwin and sophomore Hannah Verschoore (Bel Air, Md./John Carroll) each finished with two caused turnovers. MacDonald and redshirt sophomore Kaci Starkloff (Bel Air, Md./Bel Air) led JMU with three ground balls each.
Starkloff, in her first start in goal, made seven saves. W&M starter Katie Geary made three stops in the first half, and Colleen Nofi had seven saves in the second half.
* JMU's Casey Ancarrow now has career totals of 158 goals, 61 assists and 219 points. She moved into a three-way tie for ninth place on JMU's assist list. She shares the spot with Nora Maguire ('92) and Sue Peacock ('84).
* Ancarrow's now has a point in 70 of her 71 career games.
