No. 7 Mercyhurst Extends Winning Streak

GREENSBURG, Pa. - The seventh-ranked Mercyhurst College women's lacrosse team stretched its winning streak to six games by defeating Seton Hill, 17-6, on Monday afternoon in Greensburg, Pa.
The Lakers, who improved to 6-1 on the season with the win, outscored the Griffins 9-2 in the first half after the host team jumped out to a 2-0 lead in the opening minutes. MC then reeled off six straight to start the second before both teams ran off consecutive goals to close out the frame.
Senior Kimberly Masterton led the offense again with five goals and an assist. Junior Ally Keirn and freshman Anna LeGrett recorded five points each, with Keirn scoring three goals and dishing out two assists and LeGrett chipping in two scores and three assists. Senior Elizabeth Tice and sophomore Alisha Catalino potted two goals apiece, while juniors Kelly Palmer and Jessica Lincoln and sophomore Kayle Minner all added a goal.
Sophomore Jenny Perkins made five saves as the Lakers outshot the Griffins 31-17 for the game.
Mercyhurst resumes conference play on Friday, Mar. 25 when it faces Kutztown for a 4 p.m. contest in Kutztown, Pa.
