Lock Haven Locks Up No. 2 Seed in PSAC

LOCK HAVEN, Pa. – The No. 4 Lock Haven University lacrosse team (14-1, 10-1 PSAC) downed visiting Indiana (Pa.) University (11-6, 5-5 PSAC) 16-4 today to clinch the No. 2 spot in the PSAC standings and a berth in next weekend's PSAC Tournament.

By way of the second place, LHU earned a first round bye.

The Lady Eagles got goals from nine different players today and jumped out to a 9-3 halftime lead.

Allison Berger (Oreland, Pa./Springfield) led the way with three goals and one assist.

Four different players netted two goals apiece for LHU.

Chelsea Borrino (Webster, N.Y./Webster Thomas) dished out five assists and added one goal for the six-point afternoon.

LHU outshot IUP 43-11 and got another fantastic defensive effort from up and down the lineup.

Lock Haven held a 30-17 advantage in ground balls and caused 13 turnovers.

Katie Zichelli (South Orange, N.J./Columbia) had five ground balls and four caused turnovers.

Alex Cross (Owego, N.Y./Owego) was all over the field for LHU and had four ground balls, three caused turnovers and three draw controls.

Heather Sacko (Fairport, N.Y/Fairport) and Nicole Necci (Jackson, N.J./Jackson Memorial) combined for five saves.

Lock Haven closes out the regular season on Saturday, April 23 against No. 3 Limestone College.
