No. 10 Dowling Roars Past No. 8 New Haven

WEST HAVEN, Conn. - Jackie Andersen had four goals and one assist, Kelly DiFede had three goals and Nicole Moran had two goals and two assists as No. 10 Dowling upset No. 8 New Haven, 14-9, on the Chargers' home field on Sunday. The Golden Lions improve to 2-0, while New Haven falls to 1-1.
Dowling scored the first seven goals of the game and led 8-2 at halftime. New Haven closed the game on a 6-3 run, and scored the game's final three goals, but it wasn't enough.
Nicole McKee led New Haven with three goals and Kristina Curry and Marissa Fisher added two goals each. Campbell added four draw controls and two caused turnovers, while Brittany Ast registered four ground balls, two caused turnovers and one draw control. Dowling's DiFede led all players with seven draw controls.
Last season, New Haven defeated Dowling, 21-10, on Long Island.
Dowling hosts No. 12 Bloomsburg on Wednesday. New Haven heads to No. 1 LIU Post on the same day.
