Nike/LM Girls' HS Top 25: Who Bets Against McDonogh?

from LaxMagazine.com Staff | Twitter

Rapid change in the high school lacrosse landscape and the breadth of talent nationwide has made it even more difficult to rank the top teams and players. Imagine if Culver (Ind.) played Boys' Latin (Md.) for the mythical national championship last year. Or if girls' lacrosse dynasties McDonogh (Md.) and Moorestown (N.J.) had a chance to end each other's epic winning streaks.

Get ready to ramp up for another season of what-ifs, as Lacrosse Magazine rolls the ball out for 2015 with the Nike/LM National High School Top 25s and Regional Top 10s. Follow weekly polls and updates at LaxMagazine.com/HSB25 (boys) and LaxMagazine.com/HSG25 (girls).

What more can you say about McDonogh? The Eagles' 112-game winning streak is the longest in high school lacrosse history. Nine starters return for the five-time defending national No. 1 and six-time defending IAAM A champions. Coach Chris Robinson boasts 20 players who will go on to play Division I lacrosse, which doesn't even include sophomore sensation Andie Aldave, who made the U.S. U19 team alongside fellow McDonogh star Brindi Griffin (Maryland).

Also, look for Milton to contend in Top 5 territory and feud with Vero Beach for the title of best of the South. The teams meet March 21 in Georgia — a day after Milton plays McDonogh.
