MacIntosh Breaks Out, Leads Rochester Over Nats

from press release

ROCHESTER, N.Y. - Led by five goals and an assist from midfielder Jordan MacIntosh, the Rochester Rattlers (3-4) snapped a two-game losing streak by earning a 17-10 Major League Lacrosse victory over the Hamilton Nationals (2-5) at Sahlen's Stadium on Saturday evening.

MacIntosh, who earned Bud Light MLL Player of the Game honors, had scored just four goals in his previous four games this season before his six-point performance against the Nationals.

After midfielder Kevin Crowley gave Hamilton a 1-0 lead just over three minutes into the first quarter, the Rattlers answered by scoring three straight goals over a three-minute span to take a 3-1 edge.

The teams traded goals twice before the Rattlers increased their lead to 8-3 as MacIntosh and midfielder Matt Striebel scored back-to-back markers. But, Hamilton closed the gap to 10-8 later in the third quarter with three consecutive goals, including a two-point marker from midfielder Joe Walters.

The teams traded goals twice before Rochester secured the victory by scoring five straight goals, including three from MacIntosh.

While MacIntosh led Rochester with his six-point effort, attackman Kevin Leveille added three goals with an assist for the Rattlers, who were outshot by a 35-34 margin.

Walters led the Nationals in a losing effort by scoring three goals, including a two-point marker, with three assists while Crowley and midfielder Stephen Keogh tallied two goals each.
